Chartres is certainly not a seaside town or any kind of resort, but that' doesn't mean water sports and swimming/bathing are difficult to find!
After a short drive, you can take a pedal boat, a kayak or a dragon boat for a 3 km trip along the river Eure. On the river the Loir you'll find water skiing, wakeboarding, catamaran sailing and windsurfing... not to mention the pool, of course!
