On the Veloscenic cycle route: between Chartres and Maintenon

If you want to set off along this cycle route by going from Notre Dame in Paris to Mont Saint-Michel, one of the stopoffs along the way will take you to where we are in Eure-et-Loir.

First stop: Maintenon Castle. You will be stunned by the former residence of the secret wife of Louis XIV with its beautiful interior, French gardens and aqueduct that bring a truly idyllic country feel to the estate.

Second stop: Chartres. In our city, there are lots of real gems to explore: incredible houses and art around every corner, master glassmaker workshops, museums and an unusual historical heritage, including Chartres Cathedral, which is classified as a UNESCO world heritage site.

But that's not all! Choosing the Paris- Mont Saint-Michel Veloscenic cycle route means there are bound to be lots of surprises! If your wheels take you to our estate between April and October, prepare to be amazed by the Chartres light show: 20 of our city’s must-see sites are transformed by music and light.
