The bishop's gardens

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 8am to 8pm all year round.

 

The horticultural garden

With a surface area of 1.7 hectares, the horticultural garden offers a rich array of different trees, with numerous rare species: bald cypresses, upright English oaks, redwoods, American walnut trees and a ginko biloba tree (also known as a maidenhair).

The park also has a beautiful collection of ornamental ducks such as teals, wood ducks, mandarins and even widgeons.

The park on the banks of the eure

Why not relax on the Eure in lush green and shady surroundings, close to the cathedral and the town center. The park also offers numerous other attractions:

  • A games-area for the children,
  • An animal park with goats, rabbits and peacocks, and aviaries where you can admire ducks, geese, chicken and pheasants,
  • A golf course.

The Andre Gagnon park

With a surface area of over two hectares, the park consists of banks of flowers and a rose garden (65 different varieties). The park’s large lawns and games-area make it the perfect spot for children.

Located at the entrance to Chartres when coming from Paris, these gardens offer an exceptional panorama over the Cathedral and the town.

The medieval garden of the Saint-Andre collegiate church

Located on the banks of the Eure, the medieval garden offers a collection of plants with aromatic and medicinal properties, as grown in the Middle Ages.
